Bella (Female, age 6-8 (estimated))

I am a very sweet girl, but it takes me a bit of time to trust new people. I came into rescue with multiple health issues, but the fantastic people here have made sure I'm healthy and ready to enjoy life. I've lost the extraordinary excess weight I came into rescue carrying and am now at a healthy weight. I feel loads better and can now go up and down stairs with ease. I like the other dogs here alright and don't bother the cat, but I'd prefer a house with only one or 2 other furkids. Young people and their unpredictable movements scare me, so I'll do best in a home without little children. I'm terribly afraid when taken out of my safe zones, so I'll need a home with a fenced yard.

Biscuit (Female, age 9)

My name is Biscuit and thanks for stopping by to visit. A very special THANK YOU for helping me with my medical expenses! The growths I had on my face and behind my right ear are h-i-s-t-o-r-y! And my pearly whites are again both pearly and white. I am a very outgoing and affectionate Sheltie girl. My foster family is amazed at my level activity. I just love life! Since arriving at Sheltie Rescue Boot Camp, my foster dad has been helping me regain my svelte figure. I only have a pound or two left to lose. I am ready to graduate to my forever home.

Dutch (Male, age 5)

Woof, woof! My name is Dutch and thanks for checking me out. My foster dad thinks I should have been named Herbie because I am a real LOVE BUG. I am a very lucky Double Merle Sheltie boy, as I have vision in my right eye (and some in my left eye) and have some hearing as well! I love nothing more than lying in your lap and falling asleep. I get along great with my foster brothers but I will push them out of the way to get as much attention as I can.
<datePosted>11/20/2008</datePosted>

John Coffey *Muchos gracias* (Male, age 2 to 3)

Muchos gracias!! Wow...humans are really cool. I hear, I get to start my heartworm treatment next Friday. Thank you!!! I just can't believe how nice everyone is here at my sheltie rescue family home and my extended sheltie rescue family. You can just call me "BIG JOHN", as my name suggests I'm a larger than life sheltie, sometimes I don't realize my size. I was found as a stray and unfortunately have a couple of problems, I got heartworms and they are really bad (at least that's what TED (The EVIL DOCTOR) says). Sometimes I cough. I've had all kinds of test, xrays, and something called an echocardiogram. I lost my manhood (that was a big blow to my ego). And I still have to get those darn worms treated,so you see I really need everyone to keep praying for me because I hear this treatment is no picnic and supposedly I have to be kept quiet for almost 60 days, no running, no playing, no jumping, wow now that's going to be hard for me foster family. I'm the most loving, attention seeking (and giving) dog you will meet. I can be well a wee bit devious at times and will display puppy behaviors like stealing toliet paper and shredding it (note to foster mom, you really should put it behind a locked door) or trying to take me foster dad's lunch off the counter (teehee - the other shelties are to short to reach the counter). Now that's fun stuff. I like to jump on the bed and make sure me foster mom is awake after me foster dad leaves for work. Nope, me not let me foster mom sleep late! Once I finish my heartworm treatment I'd like to have a permanent family to share my love with. Coffey stands about 20 inches tall and weighs 40 pounds, he's a little undweight.
<datePosted>5/23/2010</datePosted>

Lady Mae (Female, age 3)

Woof..Woof.. thanks to those who have contributed to help me reach my goal.
Lady Mae had never been to the vet before and she needed everything, shots, spay, dental cleaning and three teeth pulled. Lady Mae has completed her heartworm treatment. She stands about 14 inches tall and weighs 21 pounds, she is currently on a diet trying to loose a few. Lady loves to play with toys and is especially fascinated if they make noise.
<datePosted>5/1/2010</datePosted>

Lassie Blue (Female, age 12)

Hi! Lassie Blue has reached her sponsorship goal thanks to those who contributed to her medical care. Don't let my age fool you, I'm very youthful. I love to walk, and do very well on the leash; around the house, I follow my foster mom like a little shadow.
Don't ask me to walk in wet grass--does not like wet tooties! Would be better if forever home does not have cats;however we are working on that.

Owen (Male, age 12 (estimated))

Woof woof, my name is Owen and thanks for stopping by for a visit. I am an older Sheltie boy, very laid back and don't demand much. I am content to lie at your feet or in a nice sunny spot. I came into rescue as a stray and a little emaciated but "good groceries" work wonders! I am quieter dog, but will let you know when it's mealtime or when I first greet you in the morning. Oh, and I am a bigger Sheltie boy, I came to Sheltie Rescue via Collie Rescue because everyone thought I was a Lassie dog.
<datePosted>3/2/2009</datePosted>

Sandy (Male, age Est. 8-10)

Hi all!!!!! Sandy here :). Still kinda new to this whole "rescue" thing, but me thinks I have it all figured out. Still a bit shy, but have decided to let you know me a little more each day. My humans are teaching me to play, but fetch; you threw it, you go get it. I like attention: pet me, brush me, or just let me lay beside you. I prefer men to women (Woof..Woof..), but will eventually learn to trust a patient woman.
If you're interested give Ms. Sherri a shout.

Trista (Female, age estimated 7)

Can you believe I had to have 12 teeth pulled? 12!!! The visit with TED (The Evil Doctor) was filled with needle pokes too. And I had something called a spay. I have some flea dermatisis, which TED has treated. It will take a little while for my hair to grow back. I want to thank all my sponsors who sent in greenpapers to help me. I'm already feeling so much better! I'm Trista and I'm a little bitty girl, I weigh only 15 pounds and stand about 12 inches tall. I'm not the prettiest girl in the pack but I'm certainly the sweetest and have the biggest heart. I'm not really use to getting attention so I try to hide in the crate, but my foster mom makes me sit with her every day. I'm getting use to being picked up and I wag my tail lots during these sessions. I'm very submissive. I love belly rubs and doggie beds. My foster mom says I need better social skills. I'm looking for a family who'd like to help me become part of your family. My new family needs to have a fenced yard because I don't like being on leash.
<datePosted>5/1/2010</datePosted>
