Mr. Barney (Male, age 12)

He has lost the ability to hear and 80% of his eyesight but still knows how to be a great pet. Arthritis has slowed him down but not stopped him. Do you have it in you to make his last few years better than his first twelve? Barney weighs 32 pounds and needs to lose 7 of them. He is on a green bean diet.
Mr. Lucky (Male, age 6 to 8)

Lucky is a beautiful, dark red sable boy with a heart of gold. He is slightly reserved at first with new people, but it doesn't take him long to get to know you. His last owner fed him way too much people food, so he weighs much more than he should....but we are working on that. He enjoys short walks, laying around the house, and of course, getting attention and petting. He is people-oriented and loves to be in the same room with us. He is a laid back guy and easy to have around. He does have a playful side, and we feel like once the weight is off him, he will feel better and this side of him will blossom. Mr. Lucky has some arthritis in his front leg that causes him to limp some, but he isn't too bothered by it and glucosamine supplements seem to be helping. Weight loss should help with this mobility issue. He gets along well with other dogs as well as cats, but he doesn't like rambunctious dogs to get in his face. He is approximately 15 1/2 inches tall and 30 pounds.

Mr. Max (Male, age 2)

TSR will only consider an experienced performance home that is actively participating in agility, fly ball, or rally. He is very high energy sheltie who needs a job and a ton of exercise. He also needs another dog as a playmate and a very large fenced yard. He's a little shy but warms up quickly. Mr. Max's new family will need to have the ability to provide him with special interactive dogs toys and have an on-going weekly toy budget, he's likes to destroy them. Mr. Max is not a sheltie for a novice dog owner, he is not the dog to learn with his person needs to possess the knowledge and skills to maintain his current level of training. Max becomes very destructive if he is bored. The adopter must willing to dedicated several hours a day to training, exercising and playing with him.
Also, the adopter must be willing to tell us how you will deal with Max on a rainy/snowy/cold day when he can't get outside and run off his energy. The above items are firm requirements and TSR will not make any exceptions. TSR only adopt to residents of NC.

My owners neglected me and then early one morning they tied me to Animal Controls door and left me. I have skin problems and animal control shaved half my hair off. My new dad says I will have to get a lot of vet work done to me but soon I will be like new. He also tells me I need to lose twenty pounds. Despite all the abuse I have had, I love people and want to please them. Does anyone out there have the love and patience to mold me into the great dog I can be? Please note TSR only adopts to residents of NC. Rocky weighs 35 pounds and needs to lose 5 more. He is on a green bean diet.
<datePosted>1/20/2013</datePosted>

Sketch (Male, age Est. 2 to 3)

Sketch has normal hearing and vision. He is easy spooked and very noise sensitive. He requires special handling, seems to bond with one individual in the home. Takes a long time for him to trust. He likes to chase baby birds, climb trees, fences and loves to steal the tennis ball. He'll hide all the toys(or perceived toys) in your house in the back yard. Sketch needs a home with an experienced sheltie person who is familiar and has previously dealt with fearful dogs. A fenced yard is a must as Sketch refuses to walk on leash. Sketch always has his eye on the sky. Sketch is approximately 17 inches tall and weighs 28 pounds. This is not a dog for the average pet owner, SERIOUS inquiries only!!!
Thunder (Male, age 4)

I need lots of play and walking. I'm deaf and need someone willing to learn how to communicate with me. If you will take the time to train me without talking, you will end up with a special bond not seen by most owners. Because of my energy level I need a VERY large fenced yard where I can run and play and hopefully another high energy dog to play with. A job would be good for me to, like obedience or rally. Thunder is about 20 inches tall and weighs 36 pounds. Please note TSR only adopts to residents of NC.
<datePosted>3/4/2009</datePosted>
