Miss Ivy
- Canine Good Citizen

We adopted Miss Ivy in December 2002 after fostering her for 2 months. We just couldn’t let this little girl leave! Actually, my husband couldn’t bear the thought of her leaving. Anyone who saw her when she first came into rescue can’t believe she is the same dog. Once she understood that the outside world was trying to communicate with her, she really came out of her shell.

Miss Ivy is one of the SWEETEST shelties I have ever met. She is also one of the most talented. Miss Ivy is deaf and has very limited sight but she doesn’t let it bother her. She can navigate the yard and house better than some hearing and sighted dogs! She is great on a leash and LOVES to go places.

Miss Ivy was the star student in Charlotte Dog Training Club’s Puppy and Pet Beginner classes. Many students didn’t even know she was deaf and blind. She also passed her Canine Good Citizen test with flying colors. The evaluator was amazed!! Miss Ivy is still attending obedience classes “just for fun” and knows 10 obedience commands.
