Sizzle and Mary
With Loving Arms Triangle Sheltie Rescue (TSR) welcomed six new arrivals: Shawn, Holly, Chisum, Castle, Mason, and Sizzle. These sweet Shelties traveled nearly 1,200 miles,
and in the blink of an eye their entire world changed – new people, new surroundings, new routines, and a brand-new chapter ahead. When you pause to think about it, that is
a tremendous amount of change for any Sheltie. Our hope, and our promise, is that this transition will lead them to a future where they can receive the care and individual
attention they deserve.
In total, seventeen Shelties were brought into rescue during this effort. Six are now in the care of Triangle Sheltie Rescue, six continued on to our friends at Northern
Virginia Sheltie Rescue (NVSR), and five went to Central Illinois Sheltie Rescue. Rescue work is truly a team effort, and it takes many dedicated people working together to
make these life-saving efforts possible.
To bring these Shelties into our rescue, we quickly assembled a volunteer travel team similar to the one that helped transport another group of Shelties last spring. For this
trip, two volunteers traveled more than 2,200 miles to help these furbabies begin their new journey. NVSR and TSR partnered to rent a cargo van for the trip and shared the costs
of travel, including fuel, meals, and an overnight hotel stay. It was a true collaboration driven by a shared commitment to the Shelties.
While their former owners cared for them, these Shelties lived very sheltered lives, and the outside world is now full of new sights, sounds, and experiences. Only a few had
ever left their previous home. Most had never ridden in a car, walked on a leash, played with toys, or curled up in a bed of their very own.
We would love to send each foster Sheltie home with a small care package that includes a soft bed and a few dog toys to call their own. We are fortunate to already have a
generous supply of treats donated by Saint Rocco's Treats.
Every one of these Shelties will need vaccinations, sterilization, dental care, grooming, and some will require treatment for skin conditions or behavioral issues that our
veterinarian will evaluate. Nearly all of them – with the exception of Holly – have significant periodontal disease and will likely require dental extractions. As they settle
into foster care, we will begin addressing these medical needs while helping them adjust to a new life filled with brighter days and loving arms.
If you would like to help support their care, donations are always deeply appreciated. You may donate through our website via PayPal by clicking on the Donate button on the left side of
the screen, or by mail at:

Every gift helps us provide the medical care these special furbabies deserve.
Our promise to them is simple – loving arms, proper medical care, and the opportunity to thrive in devoted homes of their own.
Please stay tuned for updates as their journey with Triangle Sheltie Rescue begins. 💜
