Please note, these dogs have been long since adopted.
TSR received five new surrenders who were in desperate need of help. As soon as we received them, we had our vet examine them and it appeared that
none had any vaccinations and had not been spayed/neutered (except for Skye Blue just recently). All of them had serious problems with their teeth, especially
Skye Blue who lost all but six. All still had rear dewclaws. Overall, we estimated that each dog would require at least $450 of vet care.
Here is a little more about each of these surrenders from 2013:
Queen B (estimated age between 8-10)
They call me the Queen and I need some help understanding that I am not really royalty. I can be very aloof and don't like to share. I'll grant you an audience to pet me
but it needs to be my choice, not yours. Would probably be best if I lived in a home with a single adult where I am the only dog so that you can spend some time teaching
me the way things really ought to be. It will take some time and the right person but if you give me a chance, I'll take a chance on you too.
Choice (estimated age between 8-10)
My name is Choice and I'm hoping to be yours! I am a pretty quiet girl, probably has something to do with my age. I haven't learned much yet about being in a home but
with some time, I'm sure to learn. They tell me that I'd be a good lap dog (once I get to know you) and would really like to be the only dog getting all of your
attention. My ideal home would be with adults only where they are looking for a fur-kid to make their own.
Chatty (estimated age between 3-4)
Ok, so I need some training. I am pretty young, small, active and very vocal. (But aren't most shelties?) Right now I'm kinda wiggly and a bit nervous about being petted.
I can be a nipper and a bit quarrelsome, so they tell me I shouldn't go to a house with small children. I'm looking for a family that will work with me to learn good
manners and how to be sociable with others. If you'll put in the effort, I'm sure to be worth it!
Gabby (estimated age between 3-4)
I am Gabby, and I come by my name honestly. I like to talk! I am very curious and respond well to people once I get to know them. If you have older children that can
be gentle with me, we'll get along just fine. I do need to learn the basics and so my new family needs to be willing to spend some time teaching me. I promise to do
my part so that you'll be glad you made me part of your family!
Skye Blue (age 12)
I'm an older guy and had some real health issues but they found me a vet to start me on the road to recovery. I may have some years on me, but I can move pretty quickly!
They tell me I am clever and I don't get easily frustrated so I can learn if you'll just spend some time with me. I am affectionate but can be easily intimidated so I
need a home with older children or adults only. What do you say about just lying around together and maybe watch some TV? I can be your best friend , I know I can!
If you can help us care for future surrenders in any way, we would really appreciate anything you can do. Our concerns are obviously the medical care and expense to
nurse them back to be health and give them the forever homes they deserve. Donations can be made via our website at www.triangleshelties.com and by clicking on the
