Our dear, sweet Lacy! We were so fortunate to be able to adopt you from
Triangle Sheltie Rescue. When you were about 6 years old, you were
rescued from a puppy mill, treated for heartworm by the good people at
TSR with the help of Ashley's Angel Fund and stayed with your nice
foster parents, Ifor and Nancy Powell, for several months before we
brought you to your forever home.
At first, you were timid and shy, but gradually settled in and became
more confident, friendly and outgoing. You enjoyed many walks, as well
as trips in the car with us, but also were content to be at home by our
sides, receiving lots of love and attention! We knew you were happy,
seeing that tail wag so often! You were such a great comfort and joy and
the sweetest ever!

Although we took you for regular health checkups during the short 3
years and 3 months that you were with us, we found out in mid-March that
you had cancer and that it was too advanced for anything to be done. Of
course, we were heartbroken. We brought you home to shower you with our
love and to say our goodbyes. We did what we could, but on March 31, you
needed to go and we know you are now in a better place.
We still miss you so much and want you to know that, but also that we
have so many happy memories of you too! You will be forever in our
hearts, our dear, sweet Lacy! And we will see you at the Rainbow Bridge! |
