Our little Lucy passed away on August 30, 2016. She was such a dear, sweet sheltie girl and we miss her so much! We are very grateful to the wonderful people of
Triangle Sheltie Rescue for rescuing and fostering her before we were able to adopt her. She was almost 8 years old then and we knew she had a heart murmur. Despite
all the efforts of the cardiology department at the NC State Vet School and all our love, after 4 1/2 short years, her little heart gave out.
Lucy was shy at first, but would warm up with time and was quite friendly. She didn't bark a lot, but when she did, it was loud. Mostly she barked when she welcomed us
home or when strangers were near. She loved her daily walks in the neighborhood, riding in the car, walks in nearby parks, trips to the beach or anywhere else she could
go to be with us. She was happy to demonstrate what she learned through obedience training at home and in classes; coming, sitting, staying, heeling, shaking her paw,
rolling over and more, so she could have the treats she loved.
We have so many happy memories of Lucy. She was a special sheltie, a faithful friend and companion. We are missing her gentle presence, her wagging tail and all the
comfort and joy she brought to us. Good-bye dear, sweet beloved little girl. You will live forever in our hearts! We will see you again at the Rainbow Bridge!
