This is a tender story of hearts coming together, the story of 34 Shelties who, through no fault of their own,
found themselves needing a new beginning. Their former owner loved them deeply, but life took an unexpected turn, and with great care and courage, they
reached out to the Sheltie rescue community - a network built on love, understanding, and a shared devotion to this beautiful breed.
What followed was a remarkable show of unity and compassion. Local Sheltie breed clubs, rescue groups from across the country, dedicated veterinarians,
and countless Sheltie lovers all joined hands. The goal was simple: to ensure each dog found safety, comfort, and a future filled with love.
Volunteers gathered first to help provide comfort, basic care, and to prepare the Shelties for travel. A special clinic was held to give vaccinations
and initial health checks, and rescue groups were carefully matched to take in small groups, so no single organization was overwhelmed. Each transport
was a labor of love.
Two of our incredible volunteers from Triangle Sheltie Rescue (TSR) and Northern Virginia Sheltie Rescue (NVSR) traveled together to pick up 10 Shelties.
On the long journey back to Virginia and North Carolina, they softly sang to their passengers gentle lullabies to calm their nerves and surround them with
warmth. The dogs, quiet and unsure, listened with trusting hearts.
They have safely arrived at their foster homes, there is still much ahead. These sweet souls are receiving baths, grooming, thorough medical exams, and
preparing for sterilization surgeries, dentals and other testing needed after bloodwork and urinalysis. Each Sheltie that arrived in North Carolina has
dental concerns that will need care and treatment.
We are honored to introduce you to the five Shelties now in our care. As we gently begin to earn their trust and learn more about their unique personalities
and needs, we'll continue to share updates. Each day brings new discoveries, and we're excited to watch them blossom.

Each of these Shelties is walking their own path toward healing. Some are familiar with leashes and the comfort of human touch, while others are still grieving
the only life they knew. We meet them where they are - with patience, kindness, and unconditional love.
As they open their hearts to this new chapter, we hope you'll open yours. Maybe, just maybe, you'll be part of the joyful next step in their journey.
